What "bleeding edge" or meme tech do you own, and why did you buy it?
I've slowly realized as I got more disposable income, I've started setting it on fire and enjoying more technology most people don't have access to.
Some cool stuff I fell for:
- HTC VIVE + 4K Pimax VR: tried a demo and really enjoyed it. Using my desktop in 4k surround is an amazing experience and I'm glad I bought it.
- Mavic Pro drone: Love this thing. I'm not a photographer but since owning this I suddenly have the urge to be a Casey Neistat.
- ThinkPads: Own a P50s but actually prefer my T430 to it, being able to tinker and upgrade old hardware is really cool.
- Epson Projector: Opted for this instead of a TV. Colors aren't the best but I like being able to transform an entire wall into a display and not have to rely on anything but power and my Chromecast.
- Ultrawide: should be mostly self explanatory. I don't think I could go back to using anything under 21:9 again for long periods of time. Ironically, this sees less use than my 4k as a desktop monitor.
If mechanical keyboards or headphones count, I've got 3 HD6XXs, including serial number 2 (yeah, I'm that faggot), and a couple random mechs.
What about you? Brag about your bleeding edge tech here.

I plan on falling for this comfy meme, thank you /g/

why

One is for VR, one is for the computer, and one is just on display since it's serial number #00002, which I originally bought to sell but decided to keep.

Very nice. Once I'm actually making a decent salary and have savings a Tesla is probably going to be my first big car purchase.

>HTC Vive
me too, it's good for the stuff i'm doing at uni but i haven't played games with it for ages.
>21:9
girlfriend has a curved 34" one, it's pretty cool but honestly i prefer my pair of 27" bezelless displays for work stuff, having a primary screen for viewports and a secondary one for menus/multitasking works well for me. I am planning to upgrade them to 4k displays when i can afford it though.
>projector
same, we have a mini projector sat on the bookshelf all the time and a bluetooth B&O speaker connected, and a hdmi cable leading to my PC, so I can set up a full movie theatre experience in about 30 seconds and it takes up basically zero space when not in use. Probably not going to buy a tv ever again.
others:
>surface pro 4
it's actually pretty decent, use it as my daily computer when not at my desktop. got the top spec model and it's almost as fast as the PC
>expensive mice
I have a MX master (bluetooth connected to the SP4) for on-the-go and a G502 for the desktop. Both are excellent mice and would recommend to anyone.

Did you lease or buy the Tesla? I'm really tempted to get the S soon.
