Why? The original HDD has the same position. I cannot put it into the HDD tray because the cables are too short. This PSU only has two SATA connectors.

it's been a while since I looked into this, but the odd non 90 degree angle puts uneven load on the bearings in the drive and may cause the drive to fail. honestly just get a $20 case if the parts will fit.

Its not the case, its the PSU. I'll somewhen in the next months get a new one for my primary build so I can use the CX500 for it.
