Three or four feet deep and six feet wide. Independently adjustable legs and a padded rail running the entire length right at the edge closest to my body. That way I can sit in a semi-reclined position with the desk tilted toward me like a drafting table. Rail keeps anything from sliding off while also doubling as a wrist pad for typing. Plenty of room for peripherals and stuff to share.

Sure you can get a desk painstakingly aged and hand carved by some japanese artisan, but its going to cost you like 4x as much up to $10k if you want. "mass produced consumerism" is going to look nicer than quickly made handmade stuff, if you want high quality craftsmanship you're going to pay out the ass.
