>install linux
>bloat it up with a DE
why does /g/ do this?
>>60088190
Because it makes you mad so it's worth it.
>>60088190
terminalphobia
>>60088282
you're the one with the training wheels on your computer
>>60088190
Because sometimes it makes more sense to just click a button than type a command. Also most wms are just not enough. I wanna drag windows around and shit, and I'm too lazy to configure a wm to do that
>>60089541
>what is a stacking wm
For all of the little conveniences that add up. Plus it's not like I'm doing anything which uses 90% of my system resources.

This may sound like a stupid question
But if I have a linux install without a DE, if I install anything that has a GUI can I still use it?
Will I be able to open up a web browser or something?
Or does not having a DE stop you from using a bunch of software?
It's less bloat than your high bitrate cartoons
>>60089886
you can use anything without a DE, use any WM and it'll come with an X server as a dependency. when you want to run firefox or any GUI program it'll come with GTK or QT as a dependency, no DE.

Gotta save space on that 2 TB drive y'know
