It's truly a good distro
I still like sabayon.
Gentoo based, works out of the box.

Lubuntu is better.

Lubuntu is my fave. Am curious about xubuntu though. What did you like better about lubuntu?
<3 Xubuntu

But that's not openSUSE's logo, anon.

Is it wrong of me to just install Ubuntu and then XFCE?

Sound like lobotomy.

I installed LXQt this way.

call me when it has wayland support.
I can't stand using unsecure garbage like xorg

How good? what does it have over KDE? I mean, I'm willing to try it for a few days but I absolutely need KDE Connect to run.
does it make GTK and QT programs look the same? What I hate most about KDE is how ugly GTK programs look.
you can make Qt follow your gtk theme.

[FIX] BLANK SCREEN ON LID(screen) CLOSE
What is it?
On notebooks, sometimes the screen gets blank and the system unresponsive after closing and opening the lid(screen).
Why happens?
It's a bug on lightlocker(the screen locker), I still don't know exactly where and I'm not super excited to search for it. I suspect it has do to with compton.
How to fix it?
Uninstall lightlocker and install other screen locker. Examples:
xscreensaver(awfully ugly but good)
i3lock(really simple but A E S T H E T I C S with some teaks)
For some people closing and opening the lid again fixes the blank screen.
Spread the word.

I used this for a time, but switched to Ubuntu MATE. Pretty comfy, has a nice new brisk menu.
Reporting in. Xubuntu is the best version of Ubuntu out there. All other environments might as well be bloat.
I don't know if it's just a consequence of 16.04 being garbage or what, but I have had NOTHING but fucking issues on the multitude of machines I've put Xubuntu on in the past several months or so. I installed Fedora with XFCE the other day, and everything finally justwerks as it should.
