What's the best and easiest way to use an LG Flatron W2243S monitor on newer computers? It needs to be a Class 2 laser device to damage your eyes, and most mice are either Class 1 or not laser at all (LEDs), so I wouldn't worry that much. It's likely you just cause mild irritation like when you stare at electric light for too long.

>>60072693
>Get something with the ports you need (DVI <--> HDmi adapters work well though
Hmm, okay. I'll consider that. It's just that all of the top tier mobos on Logical Increments did away with the DVI port and I'm not sure if even the ones with DVI actually support DVI-A/DVI-I and not just DVI-D (which would put me into having to use an adapter again, apparently). I'll research some more, but I wish I could definitely determine if this Flatron can actually output digital (it comes with a VGA cable). Perhaps there is and I'm just ignorant about it, though.

What the fuck is going on with my computer? I would occasionally get this screen when I booted up my computer. All I would have to do is reboot and everything would be fine, performance in games and stuff wasn't even effected. So I took my GPU out for a few days and just used the integrated graphics, and this never happened, everything was fine. So I figured my GPU was dying, and got a GTX 1050 as a cheap replacement to hold me over until Volta comes out. But I just got this screen again on boot up with the 1050 installed. Jesus, 3 bumps? Yes it uses more battery. Other than that you just have 4 pixels representing every one of your 1080p content, which can be a little harsh on the image because of the sharp edges. Alright posting again about my new build; there is something seriously wrong here.
It was playing fine for a few hours in a game, then when I rebooted it immediately played at like -5 fps (one frame each 5 seconds). I alt-tabbed out of the game but EVERYTHING was lagging hard, very hard to move the cursor. I checked task manager which showed that the RAM/CPU usage was low and temps are fine (highest 75 max for gpu).
I rebooted the computer and things seem back to normal now.
It just seems like after a few hours the computer has a minute-long session of 5 fps gameplay, but this is the first time it was this bad.

We put so many effort in abstraction and polymorphism making our servers screaming in cycles to secure our data before sending it to client and serve it in plain form as it were before before wrapped in tamperable HTML which sometimes obfuscated in dynamic JS. PHP is just a text processing scripts that entrusts security to the client entirely. The abstraction and polymorphism only weights the server. What the hell is wrong with us?

My laptop has a 1080p screen. If I connect it to a 4k display via hdmi, and play a 4k movie, will it display the movie on the TV in full resolution, or will it just be 1080p?
>>
>>60078002
Depends
If it was made in the last few years it should handle 4k fine
>>
>>60078002
It depends on the graphics card. It probably does, but if it doesn't your TV will tell you
Just make sure to set the laptop on second display only.

What is the point of tablets?
Had one but didn't use it. For some reason want to splurge on a newest tablet all the time but don't because I know I won't use it.
>>

Thanks, where could I look for more info? I know the DAC and other circuits can change the final output but im interested in the stage just before the DAC after the decoding process, all the info I can found talks about about differences due to DAC and other bits. Or am I missing something? Afaik the cpu decodes the source file, passes it to the DAC as a digital signal and the DAC converts it to analog along with other analog stuff.

A few questions

1. I have an M.2 SATA and a 1TB HDD. What exactly is RAID0 and what are the benefits?

2. When shopping for a mechanical keyboard, what are the differences between keys? I spend most of my time typing but I game every so often, which key-type is best for me?

3. Is there a site to browse mice by handsize? I have large palms and average fingers, and I'd like a nice mouse.

4. 34" 1080p @ 144hz or 25" 1440p@75hz?

>1. I have an M.2 SATA and a 1TB HDD. What exactly is RAID0 and what are the benefits?

Combining two similar drives together for double the theoretical performance of each drive, but also doubling (or a bit more) your risk of failing, since if either drive dies, everything's gone.

>2. When shopping for a mechanical keyboard, what are the differences between keys? I spend most of my time typing but I game every so often, which key-type is best for me?

I have a capture card. It worked fine for nearly a year. Then suddenly it started dropping frames all over the place.

The hard drive can't be the culprit; I RMAed it and got a new one. I don't think even the old one was broken, but I got a new drive regardless. I switched SATA cables recently, in case they were broken. The capture card itself isn't broken; I tried another capture device that showed the same stuttering. Re-installing Windows changed nothing. I tried different graphics cards and internal graphics as the source. I tried switching video players in case it was just playback that was fucked up. Tried different drivers for GPU as well as capture card. Tried disabling antivirus and every background program.

Anybody have another idea what it could be? At this point, I'm worried that my motherboard connectors (either SATA or PCIe) are fucked, but not sure how I could test it. I don't want to keep RMAing parts to see if something changes. I'm desperate at this point after three months of troubleshooting so I figured I'd just ask here.

surface mount capacitors
Some sort of IC. does something with power regulation, maybe controls the others.

the caps are necessary for the switching power supply, that steps down the voltage from the computer power supply to 1.2v or whatever the gpu needs at that time.

So I'm trying to create training data for a neural network I'm working on.
I'm outputting a bunch of .png files to a folder, one for each sample. I'm making 1000000 samples, and each sample is 11x11 with 3 channels and 8 bits per channel. According to my napkin maths, this should use a maximum of 346mb (11*11*24*1000000/8/1024/1024). However, I'm only a quarter way through generating my data and the disk usage is already at 1.3gb. How do you define a correct answer? If the answer is "Hamlet", and someone tweets "Well, it's not Hamlet", how would you best parse that to capture all sentences like that? What about grammatically incorrect answers, will you try to parse and accept that? That's a nightmare!

Is there a way to disable specific diagnostic beep codes on Dell laptops? Why does this work (rgb565 to rgb888)?
    R = (R << 3) | (R >> 2);
G = (G << 2) | (G >> 4);
B = (B << 3) | (B >> 2);

and why the strategy that looks right doesn't give me the right values (are close enough but not the exact values)?
    R = R * 255 / 63;
G = G * 255 / 31;
B = B * 255 / 63;

Also, codecademy.com is a good place to learn it, right?

>/sqt/ - Stupid Questions Thread
Just what I was looking for.

I'm somewhat new to sqlite... I had a sqlite database of 9 million URLs with a bunch of duplicates. Found a query on google to remove duplicates and ended up with 6,6 million rows. I also deleted columns I don't need.

The problem is, the sqlite file is exactly the same filesize as the backup from before the operations. I have closed and opened the manager several times and checked the filesize several ways to make sure there's no strange caching thing (windows 7).

What gives?
>>
>>60082920

Learn C++ first. It's horrible and overcomplicated and you'll hate it forever but it's a good jumping off point for other languages, because it covers a lot of topics and a lot of other languages you learn will be easier and make more sense

I was around when they implemented them (due to excessive samefagging iirc) and remember there was some ruckus over it. But I can't remember the reasons people opposed it. It's just useful and the ID doesn't follow you from thread to thread so it doesn't compromise anonymity.

With thread-specific IDs you're able to have a direct conversation with the same person no matter how busy or full of trolls the thread is.

Anon who asked the question here - for my purposes "service" isn't monetarily defined, it's just a distinction between services, goods, and social programs. The existence of a provider and it not being a one-off tangible object is really all it's asking about.

If it's disabled I guess I'll have to change/configure something by mounting the SD card on my laptop?

Why would the most essential feature be disabled anyway? Seems retarded to me lol.
>>
>>60084788
Yeah, and that really doesn't get defined until you start asking people to pay for it. Software is weird that way. If you sell something on a CD, it's definitely a good. If you charge a recurring fee it's often considered a service. A browser, which is handed out for free and benefits it's creators in other ways, doesn't really qualify as either. That's legally anyway. There may be some other academic answer.

There's eval, which lets you run the command in a string. You could do some string concatenation, like so (pseudocode because I don't know matlab of the top of my head)
var = "x"
var = "f(" + var
var = var + ")"
eval(var)
