No, it uses its own package manager. It can use portage, but if I remember correctly, it's a pain to just use portage for everything.

the most glitchy distro i have ever used. nice in theory but it's maintainers have no idea what the FUCK they are doing. I tried installing it once and their slideshow on the installer actually blocked "install" button, kek. Once I did get it installed somehow, it was all and all unpleasant.

It's a fun ride. I would still be using it to this day if I had time to maintain a rolling distro. Unfortunately, after college, life got in the way and now I'm stuck with fixed release distros.
