Hi /g/, i need to be instructed on how to limit the bandwidth on a router. I already know the QoS settings, but that's not what i'm searching for. I need something to actually limit a device's use of the bandwidth.

for exemple: i have 20, and i want a smartphone to use no more than 5. Is there a way to do this? Seems like Netlimiter can't connect to a smartphone.

i have a Netgear DGN2200v4, for the records.

Unfortunately there isn't the option to limit bandwidth that accurately with netgear genie/routers.

that's a shame. not even with external software?
>>
QoS is only for outbound traffic

There may be external software but i don't know how you'd get your router to use it.

You need a real networking device, not some cheap ass router. My $600 firewall can do this easily.
