How fast can I learn C++ if I know C?
Two

Don't listen to this idiot. Probably four or five
Wtf? Why can't anyone give a real answer?
We all know it's 10...
if you know c you know c++
>>60040359
Even if C is low level you should still speak in decimal, it's two.
like 6 gallons
Kind of fast, but not too fast
>>60040246
Honestly curious myself, is it just the object oriented stuff that differentiates the two? I'll be going the other way this summer, I know c++ but never used c.
>>60040610
The basic syntax is the same, but C++ is much, much more bloated and using the same libraries and API than C is discouraged (though you can).
>>60040610
C++ is a completely different language that just happens to have C-like syntax for many concepts.

>>60040688
huh. So if I don't like c++'s object oriented stuff I'll be happy with c? It's for data structs/algos class btw
>>60040246
you already know it
>>60040741
> It's for data structs/algos class
If it's only for that, yes. But C++ has some nice features (besides OOP) that make life much easier. For example containers, wich implement most of the basic data structures out there.
Also as long as you use OOP mainly for organization rather that inherence, OOP is perfectly fine.
