Is F# a meme language? I was gonna learn it, but of course it's very important to get /g/'s opinion first.

I just wanted to know if it was worth learning or not. I like to get lots of opinions before I start using my time to do something.

never used it but it might be ok

botnet-lang
I've been using it for about a year now on and off outside of C#. It's absolutely great for rapid prototyping stuff with and without .NET; something that would take 100-300+ LoC in C#/Java/C++ can end up coming out as < 30 in F# even if you hardly know what you're doing. Honestly I really like it, some syntax things are a bit annoying like casting float vs float32 in some situations and generics are a bit awkward, but other than that I love everything about it and the syntax is really clean

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like F# might be worth learning

Development has slowed down because Microsoft managers have decided it's too much of a challenge to teach people to code functional.
Development is continuing and Microsoft says they're committed to supporting F# for years to come though.
Might as well ask this in here.
What language should I learn next? I know python, java and ruby, not counting webdev shit.

I'd definitely say so; The only problem is the lack of tutorials.. If you're good at reading MSDN documentation, you shouldn't have a problem though.
Tutorialspoint is also really nicely laid out for learning the basics
