I do get a blue screen when booting up my windows laptop.
I used the USB Ubuntu boot to check if it was completely crashed but no.
I can still access all of my data via USB boot.
However when I want to run the windows or Ubuntu installer, there is no Hard drive to choose from. Hard drive list is completely empty.
I do find it under GParted, tho. sda2 with 500 is the "defect" drive.
What the hell? Any ideas how to fix this? Or is my HDD just fucked?
Create a Windows recovery disk and run start-up repair

works with USB too?
No disc drive

Before you try anything I would back up my files to an external hard drive
>>60029732
yeah, I already did that. Not much data on that laptop anyway. Mostly used it for school and assignments.

You have to make it bootable

stay on ubuntu and fuck windows

that's exactly what I did and it works again.
Wiped HDD and installed Ubuntu, no problems.

Use the gnome disk tool (in ubuntu) and post Smart data & self tests

This thread had a happy ending. I'm guessing the Hiber.sys file locked the filesystem of there were just some filesystem inconsistencies. A chckdisk or NTFS tools may have fixed it but going to Linux and nuking windows is always a good fix too.
