Tried three times, achieved to do it. It's normal to fail at some point, what's important is to learn from the errors you made, and use arch wiki to fix these errors.

Sometimes it works if I switch usb ports for some reason? I've got a pair of 64GB sony usb's that I can't even fucking reformat using windows (but linux does it 100% perfectly fine) and transferring files onto those USB's goes at like fucking 40kb/s making them basically worthless because I'm not sitting around for a fucking week to fill them up with data. And transferring files to those USB's brings windows to its fucking knees - linux dualboot, same computer, NO PROBLEM

I just spent the last 5 hours installing Arch on a spare laptop to see how hard it really was. I ended up with a ok-ish installation.

I'm going to reinstall and follow these instructions.

Well for starters the first thing you wanna do is adjust the keyboard layout for the language you are planning to type in, I know its not a big deal but come on, a basic guide should atleast think about such basic tasks and not put it in the middle of part 2 after like 10 steps.

The guide works fine. I just used it w/o issue. It's a lot more straight forward than the official installation guide. The formatting and the "choose your own adventure" style of the official guide loses people.
