You really shouldn't.
Install Ubuntu. Or Mint or the like if you want.
Then put a KVM on it. Install Gentoo that way.
There's really no reason for someone who doesn't know, say, what a variadic function is, to be installing Gentoo onto bare metal.

okie dok will do
>what a variadic function is
i've wanted to program these before but never knew what they were called ty

alright, my turn
new to /g/. experienced with linny
why should i install gen2?
Honestly, if you don't know what you're doing and you're completely new to linux (i.e coming from Windows or MacOS) than don't bother with Gentoo. If you want to dip your feet in the water with linux than try Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or even Debian.

what's gentoo for then?
what advantage does it provide over other distros?
>>60027331
It's a hobby, there's no real significant reason to use gentoo oven mint or Ubuntu, besides for people who want to use it for the sake of using it.
Which is fine.

isn't variadic function a meme compiler trick?

Gentoo is like Arch but harsher and lengthier.
Gentoo is recommended because by the time you install it you'll have learned enough to solve your own problem.
