Your max clock is close to my idle clock. You're probably running a 5400 RPM HDD from 2008 that's 80% full and fragmented as fuck, too. Just fuck off and install Gentoo, or buy a new PC if you can't deal with it.
>>60023687
I actually have that Disk usage problem at start up. It's not the disk, it's something in windows 8.
my CPU barely hits 30% though.
op is a fag and clearly has shitty hardware.

If you guys keep having this problem try disabling SuperFetch. It fixed it for me.
>>60025831
>>why don't you just disable the telemetry that's on by default???
It's on by default because it helps Microsoft fix problems for normies who don't know how to fix problems.
The option is there to turn it off so if you don't like it but don't turn it off then you only have yourself to blame.
I know people will complain about it using resources but that is only an issue if it interferes with other applications in its resource usage. If you are just idling then you probably didn't even notice that it was running until you opened task manager and decided to complain.
>>60025847
Funny. Before updating Windows asked me to verify my settings where I made sure it was still turned off and it is still turned off.
I bet you did one of those manual updates, downloading the update installer. Those always reset settings and reinstall things like Candy Crush.
>>60026133
I've done that already.
My pic was disingenuous because I'm actually downloading a month's worth of updates right now and just wanted to join in this fun thread :^)

You booboontoo users make me laugh. You make a big deal out of the fact that Windows 10 users spent all of three minutes to disable telemetry. Meanwhile, you guys spend hours staring at wiki pages each time you yaourt -Syu trying to figure out how to unbreak all the things updating broke for you.

On a serious note, Linux can be just as useful, or even more so, in specialized tasks, if you know what you are doing, and it is generally "free". The pay-for versions of Linux are generally rock-solid and unbeatable at their specialized functionalities.
Alternatively, if you've got an actual toaster you want to run a full blown OS on for some reason, Linux is pretty much your only option.
>>60026254
Depends on your distro.
There's a reason debian exists.
But something like arch, yeah, be ready for it.
>>60026135
>It's on by default because it helps Microsoft fix problems for normies who don't know how to fix problems.
Bull fucking shit. I can count the number of times on no hands that Microsoft has ever helped a user fix a problem.
Pull the corporate cock out of your mouth and stop making excuses for user-hostile misfeatures.

I don't even use Windows, but even I wouldn't blame Microsoft for their OS just doing what you asked for when it's running the Russian porn app you downloaded last night, OP.
>>60025847
It did that to me once. I ignored the "restart required" for too long and it announced it was going to restart it for me at the time it told me. I disabled the scheduled tasks for rebooting under UpdateOrchestrator and then found the files they're stored in and made them as read-only as I could so that the service couldn't "fix" it for me.
The scheduled reboot time came and went. I went to Windows Update and the alert about a required reboot was still there, but it no longer said a time it would do it.
>>60026061
That's either SuperFetch or idle defrag. Either way it's optimizing performance while your PC is otherwise not doing anything. For laptops, it only does it while plugged in.
If you don't like it you can disable it. I've left it enabled since it does seem to improve performance, I never need to defrag manually, and it doesn't get in my way since it stops doing it immediately whenever I start using the PC again.

I like how everyone is saying "I don't have this issue" and their SS shows uptime of hours if not days.
All Win 10 does this on start. The length it goes on depends on your HDD speed mainly.
If you've got an SSD it lasts a few seconds. 7200 lasts like a min. 5400 in the netbook OP is using lasts fucking 10.
