I don't get it

NVIDIA cores are twice as fast as AMD cores.
>>
"core" is an arbitrary grouping of transistor modules, it doesn't mean much in a physical sense
>>
>>60017637
because they are like at 2ghz
>>
>>60017624
Just numbers
now kys

neo /g/ is such fucking cancer.

But even Maxwell, the 980 ti have ''only'' 2816 cores

How can 2816 quality CUDA cores lose to measily 2304 radeon cores? I don't understand...
>>
Clock speed means absolutely nothing when comparing 2 completely different architectures. Look at Ryzen vs Kaby Lake. 3.5ghz Ryzen goes toe to toe with a 4.2ghz Kaby. Same with the OC ceilings. Ryzen only hits 4.0 at a max, mean while Kaby will do 5.0ghz most times. Yet overall performance between the two is similar at those clocks.

Even within the same company. My 980ti clocked to 1500mhz is less than 1% slower in some games than my buddy's 1070 at 1900mhz.

>being a corelet
even little girls have a 8 core cpu nowadays
6 cores is the king of corelets limit, anything below that you might as well off yourself
>>
>>60017848
because cuda has made great strides in performance improves from the 900 series to the 1000 series that you can use less for the same effect.
>>
>>60017941
Good for them, if only they were competitive regarding value for money
>>
>>60017848
Fury X have 4096 cores
>>
>>60017941
No, there have been little to no changes in actual shader architecture, just a major process shrink and optimizations that allowed for 50% higher clock speeds. That's all.
>>
>>60017967
And none of these are being utilized due to major bottlenecks in both the front and back end, which is why the Fury X is not more than twice as fast than the 7970 and does not even see its performance scale 50% relative to its core increase over Hawaii.

Its its maximum resolution 16:9
gtx 1070 means it can do gaming at 1920x1080
rx480 means 2304x1301
etc

Now leave OP.

Makes sense.
Thanks for the enlightment.
