I think the current limitations were there before he took over, he probably don't know how that file format check works.

Fuck knows, /g/ used to talk about vp9/webp being implemented so hiro can stop crying about hosting costs but nothing has happened yet.

We even had that season of autists spamming webms with still images to shill for webp.

They were, but there's eve less of a chance of evolution under Hiro than with moot.

This was done by moot back at the time, also not all browsers support others codecs natively so they just went with the best format at the time
