Hey can anyone explain this kernel panic to me? Was trying to create a new Ubuntu VM; wondering how to read these.
I experienced a kernel panic once before (on a physical machine) and it had to do with some kind of usb driver mix-up.

There's your issue.

You sure your iso isn't corrupted?
Also preferably use nomodeset (google how to do this) because i do not think there are any GPU drivers for parallels

Found your issue. Works on Hyper V.

This panic was essentially a one-off; I have gotten Ubuntu to work in this VM before, so this isn't exactly an issue, I'm really just interested in reading kernel panics. (I'll look up nomodeset anyhow)
For example, having a vague understanding of I/O and interrupts, I am wondering what is meant by "fatal exception in interrupt"

Parallels provides gpu drivers.

I wouldn't worry too much about the kernal panic. I'd be more concerned about being able to survive solely by eating semen

You screenshot is showing a stack trace (looks to be incomplete) of where the crash happened.
>Fatal exception in interrupt
When a program call a syscall it does so through an interrupt

Ah thank you, so a stack trace will only show me where to look to investigate the crash but not explicitly what caused it?
