You know how classic cars are still great as long as they've been maintained well?
Soon all cars will be full of electronics, so they will have the terrible life time and accelerated loss of value as a modern smartphone.
The future is bleek.

>life time
life span*
Why does the future feel so boring, I'm not really excited at all for the future even though I'm young.

cars are technology now
they have more sensors in them than any other consumer product

>The future is on bleek
Hell yeah that shit's gonna be lit senpai
Because nobody can fix or service electronics or even has a basic understanding of how they work.
>>59990520
it's not about fixing them.
electronics age like milk.
>>59990520
I can figure shit like that out but I don't have a convenient source for surface mount components, ICs and precision tools.

>classic cars
It's a fucking Singer. How is that classic?
>>59990591
pic unrelated, obviously I'm not talking about specific models.
that's just a pic of a car that I had for the thread.
the content is in the post, not the pic

even though classic cars are technologically obsolete they are still desirable, kind of disproves your point.
>>59990620
>even though classic cars are technologically obsolete
they aren't. they work just as well as they ever did.
but if your car relies on computers, sensors and batteries as much as a modern car, then it will be obselete soon

in something like 10 or 20 years time, it would take an incredible amount of effort to reverse engineer an ECU or another "black box" electronics part that would crap out in a car that was made today
not even mentioning sourcing 20-year old microcontrollers and other components to manufacture such parts as third-party replacements to keep the car operating correctly
compare that to mostly mechanical cars, where someone can take measurements for the part that failed and forge/cast/machine it

tons of old tech gets thrown out because what people use technology for has changed, not because it no longer works for its original purpose. people buy new phones because they want the hottest thing not because their old one degraded.
>>59990683
>because they want the hottest thing not because their old one degraded.
no, because android gets more bloated and you need an octo-core to run basic GUI without lag
>>59990373
Classic cars are death traps
>>59990628
Or they could just buy a standalone replacement unit like a motec
