I have an old q6600 whose graphics card I think has died but I am not sure.
I can either do a new system or replace the card, but I don't know if the card is the problem.
Someone said to get a card which could go either in a new system or act as a replacement and try it. The problem is I don't know what cards exist that would work OK in a new build but not be a waste in my current system.
The other thing is, while a new build would be nice I don't think I am doing anything that requires a new processor yet.

If you are sure its the card, then get a RX460

RX 550 would be a good match for a Q6600. Also very inexpensive.

Why not a 1050 ti?

Not good for price
750Ti or RX 460 / 550
1050ti isn't as good price/performance and would be bottlenecked by the core2quad
Related, if you decide to make a new build, sell me your q6600, if not, buy my rx460 on ebay
