Just bought a cheap Balckberry Passport from eBay.
So far so good. Android apps are running like native apps. Wow
how's the battery life?
I thought Balckberry was bankrupt.
>>59984162
I don't know. It's my first day with it, but after a couple of hours tinkering it drained maybe like a 10%
>>59984144
Are you supposed to sideload the Android apps?
Also have you done a test to see how many apps it can have open
ETA on someone unlocking the bootloader and sticking a non-botnet OS on that?
>>59984185
>from ebay
he got it used
>>59984144
Yep, you can find them pretty cheap these days and you can install Android apps with no problem at all nowadays. Pretty cool device.
>>59984193
I installed fdroid directly from the own Blackberry web browser...
It has 3gb of RAM so theres no problem at all. I have 1.65gb free with Telegram, Whatsapp, Clover, Twitter and some Blackberry OS services.
>>59984205
He only tried the phone. It's almost new. Maybe he used it a couple of days.
>>59984197
Oh fuck I'm waiting for that as well. Got a BB Classic at home that I'd love to continue using but the lack of apps / hub integration with android apps is just a horrible no-go.
>>59984224
Are you using Android version of whatsapp or blackberry? Any problems with message delivery or notifications on the Android version?
>>59984319
I'm using the android version. You can receive notifications about who sent a message to you (even a group) but you have to enter the app in order to read it, or go to the integration Hub in order to open the android popup that you could open in a real android device.
>>59984375
Seems a little cumbersome. Are the android app shortcuts in the app drawer or home screen or are they only available to open through the integration hub
>>59984455
You can open them from home screen or within the integration hub if you have a notification.
>>59984144
Are thay comfy to type on because my q10 battery not keeping it's charge might upgrade to a pasport?
>>59984622
There's a learning curve. I'm still learning, but i think so.
>>59984185
>Bankrupt
No, the opposite in fact. BlackBerry themselves won't be making their own cell phones though anymore. They've refocused the company into a software developer only for now. They've partnered with other phone makers to make BBOS10.3+ usable phones, and made BBOS10.3+ able to run Android Apps (after being checked out by BlackBerry Guardian for malware and other shit).
It's actually a pretty nice setup.

My BlackBerry Z30 phone requires a restart / power down about once a week to keep running fast.
If I don't do that it starts slowing down noticeably.
How does Clover work?
>>59984144
How cheap anon?
>>59984197
Never unless BB themselves do it.
These phones have a focus on security. Even the Android ones can't be rooted yet.
How is the keyboard? Does it have full disk encryption? Thinking of getting one.

Asking the important question
Answer this op
>>59984927
Pretty well. As a native app.
>>59984934
$140. It's new. Only unsealed.
>>59985098
Wow pretty fucking good then.
>>59985112
oh wow, I want a priv, but for that price I would have done it.
>>59985112
Not a blackberry fag but would've absolutely copped it for that price.
>>59985112
Where? eBay?
>>59984144
in b4 the IMEI is doxxed
Another anon with a passport
Got it since January, got no problems with the android apps, except the ones who use Google play services, but there's a workaround for that with a quick Google search.
Pic related, currently using clover
>>59986453
Got it new or used?
How's the battery life?
Give it back, Tyrone
>>59986479
New in a sealed box around the price of the other guy
Battery life's good, after a long day (from 6 a.m to 11 p.m.) I have around 35 percent left
>>59984185
Blackberry is the Family Video of tech companies. It recognized it would become obsolete, so it shifted its business plan and stayed afloat.
Saw a guy with one of these on the train back from London, asked him if I could have a look at it and he just handed me it and let me look at it unsupervised for like 2 mins.
Immediately wanted one after.
>>59987058
Get the silver edition
I like the A E S T H E T I C of the Bold 9900 the most and they seem to go for dirt cheap, but it is probably obsolete by now, right?
Just need a safe (botnet free) phone to browse 4chan, listen to music and use whatsapp with
Amerilards can get an almost mint condition passport for $200 whereas it's around 5-600$ in my third world shit hole. Fuck me man.
>>59984193
You can just open the apk to install it, or you can install app stores. It has Amazon preinstalled, F-Droid can be installed like the other anon mentioned, and you can even install the Play Store.
>>59988059
>almost mint condition passport for $200
I got mine bnib for $210 shipped, man I feel bad for you.
>>59984144

I'm a successful businessman and the BB PP is the only phone I use. It's a no-nonsense phone that's great for email, PDF, and web browsing. I don't install many apps. Battery life is great.
It also has a good microphone which is very important to me.
>>59988059
are you me? I can't justify getting one to fuck around on that money even though it wouldn't hurt my monthly expenses.
bbos last update when?
>>59989271
how is blackberry botnet?
Got a priv, it's pretty good
>>59990691
Am pretty jelly
>>59989863
is there any lag on this with android apps? i was stuck between this and a Moto g4 play and chose the Moto because I thought it would be a lil faster. did I fuck up?
Has anyone used SSH with any kind of blackberry keyboard? What was it like?
>>59984144
>from eBay.
