Why Google can't into social media?
They keep trying to do limited public releases.
Send out a wave of invites every so often, while being completely oblivious to the fact that nobody is going to use a social network that none of their friends are on.
Cause their founders are autists. Even Larry Page said "I'm a weirdo".

If Google+ was open from the start it probably would've replaced Facebook. The hype was real. By the time they opened it up, nobody cared anymore.

Youtube's comment section is practically social media.
And shitty or not it probably has more traffic than twitter.
should have hired moot earlier

This makes me think about the fact that Google being feed with constant information typed by both the nerd and the average and being basically the watcher of the world as it is, but unable to pull the right marketing choices to lead everyone to their products.
Is data mining a meme to rip off the merchants?
Because whiteboard hires can't into creative and independent thinking.

I really like what they did with G+, it had a lot of potential & I still prefer to normiebook. You don't get many 2nd/3rd chances though, it's hard enough to get people to move once to try something out.
What do you guys think of minds.com & gab.ai? Worth a look?

was contemplating minds.com
these alt social networks have some potential if you are looking for a myspace throwback where you just talk with random people instead of people you went to school with.

kikebook kicked in a bit before people started getting sick of constantly having to migrate and relocate all their friends so it just because the defacto standard.

They're yet to offer something substantially better. A bit better isn't enough for the effort of migrating services.
