I recently got a Samsung C24FG70 for just shy of $300 including tax. 1080p 144 Hz with a really nice VA panel and a slight curve that helps me at least with how close I sit to the monitors on my desk.

24 inches, 144Hz refresh rate, 1 ms response time. Buttery smooth to the eye if you have the gpu powah for it.

Slightly related to thread, does a 1080/1440 144hz monitor with 4k 60hz exist?
Don't know much about monitors but figured that kind of monitor would be nice to have; 1440p for fast paced gaming and 4k for desktop/rpg's etc
