Why are linux directories case sensative?

Why wouldn't they be? They are just files and files can be case sensitive.

Case insensitivity isn't some thing inherently built into computers, uppercase and lowercase letters are different entities. All code is like this. It's just fabricated into some programs for convenience's sake.

You are retarded. There is nothing stopping you from installing Linux on a filesystem without case sensitivity

This is an "issue" with EXT4, not the kernel.

I'll also add that this is not an issue. Why are you capitalizing your directories? I think you're the problem.
