Will Linux on servers ever die out?
>>59976454
it's already dead on physical servers
What will replace Linux? BSD?
>>59976568
GNU/Windows
>>59976568
redox-os
>>59976501
>Xen
only dipshits like AWS actually use it over KVM or some nonfree hypervisor like vmware garbage.
>>59976655
Why?
>>59976568
Windows ARM™ Server® 2018
>>59976454
Rust has deprecated all C operating systems.
>>59976568
Probably something like an Urbit unikernel.
>>59976454
What's the alternative?
>>59976655
>only dipshits like AWS actually use it over [...] some nonfree hypervisor like vmware garbage
that makes no sense
>>59976790
depends on what kind of server.

no. linux is a constantly evolving and improving platform. FreeBSD might gain more of a footing, but Linux will stay strong for as long as any of us are alive.
>>59976454
Not if Red Hat's stock price is any indication
>>59976608
Fuck off.
>>59976454
I disagree

>that makes no sense
it does

On really if it gets superseded on the desktop too
I can't imagine a good reason within the span of the next 30 years. It's, free, open source, more secure than anything else by a wide margin and has a plethora of tools made by developers for developers. Windows is crap, Mac servers are just a babby's Linux and everything else is too obscure to catch on.
