epic xD
>>59952563
ayyyy lmao ebin :D:D :D

Nice one
2.5 years before we start seeing more commonly available thumb drives and the like
>>59952531
No. I wish there were USB 3.1 sticks or SATA connectors. I think were won't be any until 2020.
>>59953418
this desu, I don't get the hype around 3.1 type A
>>59952531
It will be adopted just as the new standard is becoming popular. As always.
All technology adaptation depends on Apple. If they decide shit's enough they'll force everybody and their retarded grandmas to use the new ports.
>>59953652
Apple already use it.
>>59953671
Then they've apparently deprecated other ports. Apple decides what the industry does. Always has been, always will be.
>>59953698
Not really, no one else used minivga or minidvi/microdvi or ADC or their DB-15 video.
or AppleTalk
or Apple Desktop Bus
or FireWire
or Thunderbolt
or really most anything Apple did.
The only two times it's ever happened were Apple ditching their own proprietary ADB with a new industry standard and giving away Mini-DisplayPort royalty free to VESA.

I don't get the hype around type C. I actually have two 3.1 connectors but no use for them.
Does USB2/3 get faster if you connect on a 3.1? Does it deliver more power?
I was thinking of eSATA for my external drive or a 3.1 connector, but the cheapest one costs 20 €. I use a normal one for my 2.5" HDD but 3.5" don't work with it
>>59955031
no way a mechanical HDD is going to take advantage of anything >SATA II
>>59953791
Actually thunderbolt adoption is rising. Especially in high end laptops. Thunderbolt is an Intel standard, not Apple. And most manufacturers are now using the USB-c port for Thunderbolt instead of miniDP.
When do we change all ports to NanoEthernet ports?
>>59955031
>Does USB2/3 get faster if you connect on a 3.1?
No
Everything is limited to the slowest controller in the chain
>Does it deliver more power?
Depends. If the cable is strictly for charging (the data pins are jumped) then a device may be able to pull up to 900ma. Some still won't.
