Ubuntu 17 promised Mir and Unity 8, it collapsed on itself. I was watching reviews about performance, it sucks balls compared to 16.10. Now I hear they will scrap Unity altogether and go to Gnome, the most bloated and hated DE in the world.

Outside of Ubuntu, the ecosystem is only viable for programmers and sysadmins who do this for a living.

For a home user and gaymer, there is only Ubuntu which has successfully killed itself.

KWin randomly decides I don't need Windows, borders and menu bars. It is the most unstable DE ever. I tried KDE Neon and the 5.7 spinoff of Ubuntu. It was garbage.
