Hi, i tried running some software in a Windows VM on Linux host, however my Internet Connection was quite slower inside the VM as on the host.
Is this normal, or is there a way to fix such an issue?
Any tips welcome!!

Never noticed anything like that but I've never specifically tested it either. Did you install the quest additions? Did you try using a different model of emulated NIC?
> Virtualbox
There's your problem.

And that's a problem, too.

QEMU
In the meantime try switching it to bridged mode.

what is vmware
>>59944290
heard about QEMU, will look into it
will try switching to bridge mode, and see how that goes, thx!!!
If you can, use the VirtIO driver with guest additions. It's practically native speed. Or at least use bridge mode instead of NAT.

thx, right now it is on NAT, will try bridge
by VirtIo, you mean virtio-net ?
>>59944290
is QEMU really faster than Virtualbox?
>>59944465
bridged will fix it because it will expose your actual connection to the virtual OS. with NAT its not and is much safer.

With KVM yes.

Once you pair it with KVM it is as close to metal as they come.
You do stupid shit like can overcommiting 8x and live to tell the tale.
