I'm moving to China and I want to get a Chinese phone when I get there, any suggestions? I'll mostly be using it for business e-mails and calls, messaging through apps, GPS, and web browsing, but nothing too crazy. A strong battery life would definitely be a plus. The RedMi Note 3/4 looks like a solid choice.

Don't even worry about buying a chink shit phone. You'll be killing by a random truck driver in the first few weeks anyway

I personally run a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, I think the phone is pretty good. Flash the xiaomi.eu ROM onto and you've got a perfect /g/ phone.
Or don't. MIUI stock is pretty good too.

Okay, good phone, but for the love of christ check if the 850Mhz band is still in your country. Australia shut down the 2G network but I thought "Oh I'll just use the 3G network bands which everyone does anyway because who the fuck wouldn't" but little did I know, the only band for 3G on the phone is 850MHz, and frequencycheck and willmyphonework didn't update.
