1600 is better value and can be overclocked to be equal with the 1600X, you also won't need to buy the mounting bracket then.

get a B350 board. 1600 if you overclock, the 1600x doesn't even have a cooler included afaik. you need fast ram, preferably 3000/3200Mhz to unlock the full potential of Ryzen due to the CCX connection. Note that not all boards support fast ram yet.

Excellent gaming performance, even at stock.
16 threads, so running multiple virtual machines is a breeze, and compile times even inside the VM's is fast as fuck.
In fact, the virtualization performance is so good that I sometimes actually forget that I'm working in a virtual machine.

I enjoyed using my 8320 while it was my main processor. Sure, it bottlenecked some games, but it was otherwise a great processor.

I have been using a 380X since it was launched, and I have never had any problems with it (other than some weird analog out bugs which don't matter any more as I'm all digital now).
My 1700X did lock up a couple times because of the FMA3 bug, but when that was fixed days later, I haven't had any problems with it.

I would also avoid some of the Corsair sticks. The "AM4 Approved" G.Skill FlareX sticks are actually running at 3200 and are good sticks. Not saying you can't get working Corsair sticks but Ryzen is picky with memory.

I'd worry less about the board and more about the memory. Gigabyte's Gaming boards are good and the ASRock Taichi is well reviewed, though for only mild overclocking a B350 board may suit you better for the price.

To add to this, the 8GB+ Trident Z modules (not kits) running at least 2933GHz are Samsung B-die, and are basically the same as the FlareX. The only difference is the appearance, and the fact that the Trident Z kits haven't been validated on Ryzen.
