if you want OOP use java. C is basically portable short-hand assembler and low level languages will never be replaced. Exploits and memory leaks are hard to miss unlike (people who think C is for noobs) think. When it becomes a problem is when you have a huge repo and people who have no idea what they're doing start contributing. They just want to fix something that's broken for them, fast, before learning the source.
