Not even once.

>>59906167
depends if you want to make games from scratch or just use an engine.

C++ for games from scratch, that way you dont have to rely on wrappers and bindings for libraries like opengl.

or just learn the language your engine of choice uses, like C# for unity3d

If you want to make shitty indie games: any language
If you want to be a game dev: C++

Never said I wasn't a lazy dumb faggot. However recomending a programming language for making games, when there are no games written in that language is a bit stupid.

Start out with Unity, you can pick up C# or javascript along the way for it.
>>
Realistically, the better question to be asking would be what engine to be using, rather than what language. The answer to that if you're just getting into game development, is probably Unity. It's proprietary, but you don't have to pay a cent if you make less than $100k a year in revenue (and if you do end up making more, it's a fee per month per Unity license, and not a royalty system), and you can port to pretty much any semi-relevant platform, including Linux. If you'd rather a free game engine, you could try Godot, which is still pretty useful.

With Unity, you'll likely be programming games in C# or their custom UnityScript language, while Godot uses their own custom scripting language. Both engines also allow you to use C++, which is fairly universal among game engines due to the performance advantages it offers.

TL;DR: Learn C++, pick up a popular game engine.

It's not even possible to write a game in Rust, it changes so fast you can't even write hello world

Pygame. It's fine for starting, but you'll want to move on to C++ after you've got the basics down. It's a massice pain in the ass to make a pygame program an excutable file.
