ublock is very similar to requestpolicy but it also has the ability to parse adblock lists. It can be set to block far more than adblock plus or it can just block the same things that adblock plus blocks. By default it actually blocks more than adblock plus because it comes preloaded with more lists. Adblock plus only comes with easylist I believe.

Aside from that there's also the fact that it uses less memory and less CPU. Also the interface is somewhat nicer imo. Oh and also it will actually be compatible with firefox 57+

ABP on firefox is a classic addon, it uses older APIs do do stuff. In 57 Mozilla will block access to these APIs on the stable channel so addons using these APIs will be permanently broken. Before that happens the devs want to port the chrome version of ABP to firefox but the chrome version isn't as powerful apparently and they'll have to fix some things
