Be Quiet Pure Rock.
> 140W TDP
> Quiet 12" fan
> Only needs fan after about 30 minutes under full load with a 65W TDP CPU (video encoding etc).
> CPU idles around 35-38C without a fan
Disadvantages:
> HUGE enough to cover one or two RAM slot on most motherboards
> too big for those RAM modules that come with a "heatspreader" thing on top of them, using this limits how high your RAM can be
> since this hoovers over your RAM you won't be replacing that while this cooler sits there.
I really don't' know if it's much better than that h7 cooler but I personally really like having a (most of the time) fanless system.
I like the Radeon RX 470 for the same reason, btw. Idles at 45C without a fan as long as you're not gaming.
>>59902308
>It's a DM008, not DM001. Also they reworked their DM001's
Bought 4 DM001's and put them in two different RAID arrays.
All failed.
Sent first drive back to Seagate under warranty. Got the drive back DOA. Sent the second drive to Shitgate when that failed. Got another DOA drive back. Didn't bother to send them the last drives, why bother.
I'm never buying anything Seagate again.

CM has always been incredibly overrated, mostly due to being cheap and hitting the "good-enough" market

cont.
I just checked their site again. They claim two weeks ago the adapter kits started shipping. I can't tell you if it's true or not. I can tell you my H5 is still sitting in its box. I was hype for that too.
Everyone should just attach their PC to their room radiator.
>>59904172
one of the reasons I went intel over ryzen because I really wanted to use my h7 that I was using for my am3+ mobo, now I feel kind of stupid for basing my decision off a cooler, I guess it does not matter all that much, all I do is game and shitpost.
not necessarily the best one, but it's good
gonna mod white leds on it today
>>59903757

There is always risks, I considered it too but 1 year on one and not any problem last versions are very good.

I guess it depends on what you want. As far as air coolers go, Scythe, BeQuiet and Noctua in my opinion are the best all-around coolers in terms of price, performance and noise.
Scythe is significantly cheaper than the other two and has been around for quite some time. The Mugen and Kotetsu are very heavily shilled on places like Silentpcreview. That place doesn't really take performance into the equation, more so how much noise something makes. That said, the Kotetsu performs as good as Noctua's 140mm cooler and better than my NH-U12S while being $25 cheaper.
Noctua is the Apple of cooling. You're paying a premium for the brand. Noctua is still the best in terms of all-around cooling though, and if you're willing to spend the extra money go for it. They also give you a 5 year warranty which is really nice and their customer service in unmatched.
BeQuiet is parallel to Noctua in everything besides the warranty and customer service. Their fans are actually quieter, but perform slightly worse than Noctua's.
If you don't give a shit about noise the Hyper 212 Evo is hard to beat.
The Cryorig H7 is much better at only $10 more, but is a bit more louder than the Kotetsu. The Kotetsu out-performs the Cryorig H5 in both temps and noise. So for $5, you can get something that might not look as nice, but performs better and is much quieter.
The only thing I don't like about Scythe is their mounting system. Noctua by far has the easiest mounting system out of any air cooler.
>>59906758
Well the good thing about AMD stock coolers in comparison is they don't put wires that can easily get caught in the fan all around it.
I also had that particular AMD heatsink and it actually worked pretty well even if the processor it came with and most of their shit is trash.
