Is this shit a scam or actually worthwhile?
>help code robots for white genocide
>>59893664
I will only code National Socialist robots.
>>59893040
why would you want to help soros fucking over white people?
>>59893800
What does this website have to do with that?
STOP white genocide
>>59894117
why?
Its all webdev shit. I wish there was a similar site focused on real shit. Went through the algos but had to stop because JS is so faggy it's not even funny. I've been going through hackerrank doing everything I can but the structure of FCC is actually pretty nice.
Do it if you have any interest in webdev
>>59895707
okay ill give it a shot
Not a scam. It'll help you get a start with webdev
I'd just like to interject for a moment
Free Code Camp, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Shit Code Scam, is easily one of the worst possible learn2code websites on the web. Unfortunately it's very popular, so many newbs fall for it, but more on that in a second.
Biggest problem: AWFUL curriculum
It starts with HTML and CSS syntax in a painfully slow manner focusing on all the wrong things (40+ minutes on hex vs rgb colors), while almost ignoring ESSENTIAL things like the box model. Then it jumps into bootstrap and jquery, completely abstracting you away from the essential concepts of html and dom manipulation via JS before you even have a chance to try it out.
Then come the 'projects' that tell you to reverse engineer some website without looking at the source code. Again, awful from an educational standpoint: The BEST way to learn frontend is to inspect the source of other sites and mess around with the developer tools. And FCC specifically tells gullible newbies not to, giving them the worst possible advice they can receive. Then comes the JS intro (after Jquery) and goes into great length to explain JS syntax while again almost completely skipping over the ESSENTIAL dom manipulation, which is the only thing you can hope to use JS for at this level.
I wonder if FCC is a deliberate attempt at steering people AWAY from webdev by wasting their time without actually teaching them anything.

Hate thy neighbor
It helps you do free work for others
Don't be stupid, just join a freelancing site, study whats in demand, make some portofolio projects and earn

The second largest problem is all the shilling FCC does.
The bullshit artist behind it, Quincy Larson, is a good marketer, so FCC does a REALLY good job at selling itself. It promises you a guaranteed 300k starting webdev job when you finish.
But if you do the math you can see that only 4000 people have actually gotten a job afterwards. Assuming they had 100k people go through the program, that's barely 4% success rate. I recall a blog post saying the actual number was like 0.7% somewhere.
Another thing is these 'nonprofits' it shoves in your face. When you sign up it gives the impression that you're going to develop a website for a pet shelter. But turns out its just a fucking scam that asks for your money to other 'code camps' that will funnel money into Quincy's pockets.

So in short, the FCC business model:
Get suckers to donate $10 bux a month to Quincy's 'nonprofits' until said suckers complete the course. Of course they can't complete it because the curriculum is shit so they learn nothing.

There's CS50x, which is just ~20 hours of lectures if you don't include the exercises.
Ironically even though its not a webdev course. The 5 hours it dedicates to webdev are a 1000 times better than FCC will ever be.

Suppose I should add:
Best alternative is theodinproject.com (although literally everything is better than FCC)
>>59896926
what is better: pajeet code or girl code?
>>59893040
I did some of freecodecamp
It was one tool in the learning toolbox
I got a job as a web developer
It's pretty neat
