Hey /g/, we just had a vote over on /pol/ and decided that the best course of action in the short-term is to ban all forms of encryption since most of the world is on the brink of war. Open and free communication would be safer for everyone and would reduce the number of terrorist attacks.
Our questions for /g/ are:
1. How long would it take to decrypt everything and ban encryption assuming that all encryption keys would have to be divulged under threat of fines or jail?
2. After we break all of the current encryption methods, how long would it take to develop new forms of encryption that could then remain a secret?
3. Should private companies even be allowed to encrypt data or should it only be done by the government?
Thanks /g/

No one fucking cares.
>banning math
>ban encryption
FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS
banning encryption is literally impossible. the government can't even keep drugs out of prisons, how are they going to ban math?
as easy as legislating that from this point forward all circles are to be hexagons
There was no vote on /pol/. OP is a faggot.

>all circles are to be hexagons
I can get behind that. Make it so!

>we just had a vote over on /pol/
Who cares? Jesus H. Christ why would you even mention /pol/? To rustle my jimmies?
Well mission accomplished.
Banning encryption is technically impossible.
1. You do not always know encryption is in place.
2. Making your own encryption is an hour work
3. Other countries do allow encryption
4. All forms of digital security depend on encryption

>Banning math
Good luck with that you actual retards
>How long would it take to decrypt everything and ban encryption assuming that all encryption keys would have to be divulged under threat of fines or jail?
Most people would rather face jailtime than decrypt so unless you make a quantum computer by tomorrow approximately 2 times or more the lifespan of the universe
>After we break all of the current encryption methods, how long would it take to develop new forms of encryption that could then remain a secret?
About 5 minutes
>Should private companies even be allowed to encrypt data or should it only be done by the government?
Everyone should be allowed to encrypt anything they want you fucking CIA nigger
>banning all encryption
kill yourself you autistic mongoloids
enjoy getting your bank accounts stolen
Without encryption you wont even know if you are actually on the website that you think you visit.
You cant safely store your password.
You cant guarantee that the messages that are being send are actually the original messages.
You might as well end the internet.

>1. How long would it take to decrypt everything and ban encryption assuming that all encryption keys would have to be divulged under threat of fines or jail?
longer than the heat death of the universe
>2. After we break all of the current encryption methods, how long would it take to develop new forms of encryption that could then remain a secret?
Seconds, since literally anyone can come up with a secret encryption algorithm.
>3. Should private companies even be allowed to encrypt data or should it only be done by the government?
Everyone in the world should because your neighbor John doesn't need access to your data.
Also encryption is used to make sure data that is sent is received without corruption.
This is a bait thread but even for a bait thread it's pretty silly. When trolling you should make it just smart enough to make it seem like you're serious and just dumb enough to get people riled up to tell you you're dumb.
>banning math
>Literally
t.statist cuck

Let's ban math yaay
This is a poorly made bait thread. Move along.
Are people from pol really this stupid or is this a Troll?
