Honestly i don't know what scroll lock does and I am currently halfway through Python.

Scroll lock used to lock scrolling to the arrow keys, so when you use arrow keys they don't switch between cells (in Excel) or files in a folder, but are instead serving the function of the mouse wheel to scroll.
