So this is a continuation of my last thread.

And long story short it appears someone hacked into my computer and am now trying to get rid of it. In the last thread, they told me to create a bootable Linux on my USB. I have Rufus and the USB, but have no idea where to find a safe version of Linux for me to use. Anyone know where to find one? I think I'm supposed to be looking for one called mint or ubuntu.
If anyone is able to help out, thank you so much! I really hope I can get this computer virus free soon.
I'm using a friends computer for this so I just want to be really safe and not get a virus on their computer.
Or at the very least, what link do I use on the Linux mint website? I really don't want to fuck this up.
Just nuke your pc just to be sure

Alright screw it. Have Linux on my USB now. How can I boot it up?

You need to go into BIOS and put USB at the top of the boot order. Then just plug in and boot up
