Make classic Windows UI versions of a bunch of OS components.

I already planned to make a File explorer with simple UI, compact menu, hotkey and droppable toolbars when you need them and sidebar too I guess.

Made a file organizer instead.
"Organizer", sorts files based on file type groups and then file extension. (images: .jpg, .png, etc.)
It's a horrible mess of Autohotkey script I intend tidying or just doing in another language entirely.
Holy fuck AHK is so bad for anything even remotely complex. After having made a simple text editor, organizer, macro drawer and window manager, I've almost had enough of its shit.

On recent versions of windows, no.

Not really. The only good windows explorer alternative is MultiCommander which is for power users and not really minimal.

Today's version of minimalism is often just about looking kind of leightweight and having a flat ui.
Today it just has to look like it's a simple program when it's actually probably running on electron and is slow as fuck.
Back in the days "minimalism" was a result of having to satisfy resource constraints that were much tighter than today. It was more about engineering rather than designing. Nowadays ram and cpu usage has a much lower priority for most developers.
