Are Kingston/HyperX SSD any reliable?
>>
>>59832245
I put one in my old laptop. Seems to work fine for me. I'm not doing any heavy lifting with it, though. Just web browsing.
>>
>>59832245
they just werk

you should still prefer other brands that are known to be good, like crucial.
>>
>>59834334
How about those Samsung EVO SSD? Are they any good?
>>
I have a HyperX Savage 240 , 4 months almost 5tb written if SMART is to be believed. Works as expected.
>>
>>59834379
yes but they're botnet. crucial MX is better than that evo stuff and no botnet.
>>
how good are wd's ssds?
>>
>>59835434
How the hell is an SSD botnet? I mean maybe if you install the software that comes in the box, but who does that?
>>
>>59835434

>Samsung EVO is botnet

Substantiate your claims. The drivers are completely optional, and as far as I know Intel was the only ssd maker with NSA-proof firmware from the ~2014 leaks.
>>
>>59835610
What can I search for the find those leaks? Any keywords?
>>
>>59835606
>>59835610

samsung's SSDs come with a firmware that needs updating and it specifically says in their terms of use that they can do telemetry.

>>
>>59832245
yes, kingston is great.
they do great server ECC memory too
>>
>>59835857
that's the software, not the SSD
>using windows
>>
>>59832245
I have one and it's pretty good, haven't had any problems so far, speeds aren't as great as others SSDs but it's still fine
>>
>>59832245
IMO they're pretty cheap and still pretty good for laptops and stuff you don't really care about getting the best speedz

My vidya drive is a cheap SSDNow V300, and as far as performance goes, it can load a heavily-modded Call of Pripyat in 8-10 seconds depending on where I saved, Mass Effect 2 with the giant texture mod in 5 seconds or less, and Witcher 3 in 10-12 seconds. It's hard to play oversized shit on my WD Black now that I'm used to it
>>
>>59832245
They're probably fine, hell, I have a Transcend SSD now, that was my first SSD, but when searching for a newer one, I just skip Kingston because of their bait and switch with V300(IIRC), I just don't trust them enough anymore, although I did buy RAM from them recently
>>
how can i find out which ssd is suitable for my laptop? it's lenovo z580

The 2 U 400's in RAID 0
4K takes a hit because of my lower stripping size.
>>
>>59832245
Yes.

Been running one for yonks now, so get rekt.
>>
>>59834379
I have an 850 evo. Get the HyperX. I built the same exact PC for a friend of mine with the exact same software. The HyperX boots in under 10 seconds, evo takes ~20-30. I don't care about benchmarks, I've seen and used both. The HyperX is better. Besides that, the 850 evo speeds are sometimes quite disappointing.
>>
>>59836222
>being in denail this hard
>>
>has a crucial mx300 750g
>has an m2 Samsung 500GB 850Evo

They're both good. Booting takes about 15~ seconds (more because of POST screens etc) on the Evo and /v/idja goymz are quick to load up never really going beyond 30 sec.

I can't wait for mechanical HDD's to literally just die so there'll be full progression towards more SSD's and this whole 'Supply shortage' bullshit would be alleviated with more crappy companies while we know which ones are decent.

Thoughts on WD Green SSD? Saw new ones for sale, pretty cheap. Are they any good?
>>
>>59832245
if you can afford to buy an ssd in todays market, you can afford a hdd for backups.
>>
>>59832245
No
>>59841892
Basically the same as OP's.

>>59834379
Decent warranty , it's kinda trashy otherwise.
>>
>>59841953
What are some good and cheap SSD's then?
>>
Does anyone have any experience with the 1TB Mushkin Reactor? Im thinking about buying two because they seem to have comparable preformance to a 1TB samsung 850 Pro but half the cost.
>>
>>59841806
>I can't wait for mechanical HDD's to literally just die

They wont, ssds arent archival quality yet
>>
Like 1 year ago I ordered a 120gb Kingston v300 from Amazon. I didnt actually realize until it got here but they changed the nand chips used in the first batches and then went with shittier ones. The result is that it only get like 250mb/s. Dont be a retard like me and research before you buy.
>>
>>59842070
They all use the same combination of memory and controlers.
Just get the one with the longest warranty and the largest storage side for your budget.

Mine hasn't shit itself yet. I only buy what Falcon lists though so it could be awful in reality.
