I know that I should just ask this in the /sqt/, but I've done that for a few days now and no one has answered my question at all, so I decided to just make a thread about it in hopes that at least one person could answer it.
I got an old imac g5, and since I didn't have the install disk, I decided to just go through the computer manually and clean it as much as possible before giving it away. at the end of cleaning it and emptying the trash bin, I accidentally moved an OS dependent file into the recycle bin then restarted the computer. now the computer does nothing but start in a kernel panic whenever it boots up.
Is there some way to fix it via starting the computer in target dick mode?
Download and burn the OS DVD image you need from macintoshgarden.org.
Then you can do a clean install.

does it not boot in single-user mode either?
not that that should work but it's worth a try, better off just doing what >>59831170 said
Install Debian Powerpc version
Or Yellow Dog

It doesn't matter if you ask in /sqt/ or not, just don't use "/sqt/" in your post. Newbs are always clogging up the catalog

Don't look for repos, though.
All long gone.
