A few machines yeah, a thinkpad with a socket 478 2.7ghz pentium 4, my T42 with a 2ghz Pentium M 755, and my old desktop with a pentium g3260

The T42 had a 32mb ati mobility chip in it so it was really only good for things like Empire Earth, Halo Combat Evolved and Counterstrike 1.6

My old G3260 machine had 8gb of ddr3, and a 750ti in it. And that good for games like Insurgency, Battlefield 3, CSGO, and Cities Skylines. The only thing that really killed the pentium was GTA V, which really needs a quadcore to function well. When i upgraded to an i5 4460s there was a dramatic performance increase in asset loading, with the Pentium i was seeing roads failing to load and shit.
With the new Kaby lake ones, since theyre hyperthreaded, they should be comparable to other quadcores.

It still feels weird that the Pentium and Athlon names are for Intel and AMD welfare-tier CPUs now.
