My MacBook was so expensive that I'm afraid to risk anything but Apple proprietary chargers. They're fitted with stuff that makes them safer and that's why they're more expensive.

A general rule of thumb, never buy chinkshit which has anything to do with power delivery or lots of electricity. Batteries, chargers, PSUs. You never fucking cheap out on things that could cause fires. I once had a knockoff laptop charger that randomly started smoking and melting, were I not using the computer at the time and noticing it, it would have probably done damage, thank god it wasn't near my carpet either. This wasn't even chink shit strictly, I'm in the UK and it was from some shop but not original, ok, may have been chink shit, point still stands though.
