Who's ready for THREADRIPPPPPPPPER and 22 core low clocked Broadwell's getting BTFO

Come on people, it's two 1800X's glued on one huge fucking 3600 pin LGA package, literally highend Xeon performance for one sixth the price.
>>
Also this is my personal opinion, but I'd kill for a 32 core with 3.3/3.3GHz clocks even at 250W TDP, which shouldn't be all that difficult with some cherrypicked voltage bins considering how the low power the 1700 uses
>>
>>59816119
I'm pretty interested in 16c Ryzen in principle but need to wait to see real performance and pricing.

I don't see how they could avoid having the Infinity Fabric crossbars running at 2x higher clocks on the MCM parts At least.
>>
>>59816119
Meanwhile Skymeme-E tops out at ten cores. I guess Intel will have to fully reposition their HEDT line as a gay men platform, because they're going to be completely irrelevant for highly-threaded workloads.
>>
I'm considering actually getting one of this monsters
>>
>>59816651
Shylock-X is at least 4 DDR channels, which could seriously hurt R7 if priced non-jewishly.
>>
>>59816221
>for one sixth the price.
I literally came
>>
>>59816618
AMD did say they got almost perfect scaling and equal latency between all cores thanks to IF, which begets the question how much difference in latency is there if they're using IF for both inter die , die to die and socket to socket communication .
>>
If it's really clocked that high then Skylake X is literally worthless outside of AVX512
Even the 12 core would be dangerous to SkylakeX then, as it tops out at 10 cores with both having similar clocks I assume.
>>
>>59816834
Is there any chance Skylake-X is 6 channels? The high core Xeons are 6.
>>
>>59816243
TDP on Ryzen is a wee bit low, a 1700 will use 80 watts measured direct from the socket when you stress test it; noted their all core boost is 3.3ghz anyways. Could see a 300 watt TDP desu.

Noted a 7700K will pull 115 watts, and a 6900K 150 watts on the same test, so everyones exceeding TDP on it.

HEDT Ryzen has 4 channel, and I really doubt they'll pull 6 core Skulake below $400, not even mentioning motherboard costs.
>>
>>59817306
Something like IBT is obviously designed to thermally nuke the CPU, even more than the heaviest of AVX workloads.
Typical non SIMD wattage should be lower.
>>
>>59816763
I remember Intels ring bus would shit the bed out past their 12 core die on Hasmeme, so thats fuckin major.

and by shit the bed I mean their full 12 core die would outperform their 18 core die at the same frequency in certain tasks.
>>
>>59817429
prime95 actually
>>
>>59817437
That's why they're using two ring buses now!
>>
>>59816221
>highend Xeon performance for one sixth the price.

I don't even need it and I want to buy one.
This is sure to shake the crap out of the market.

Intel probably doesn't have a clue on how to improve the ring bus besides going moar wider, moar power and moar mm2.

Which doesn't really do well for scaling, so they're probably look for something else.
Funnily enough POWER9 has a very similar design to Zen, core complexes with their own pools of L3

R600, 512 bit ring bus; it used 300 watts of power
>>
>>59817685
Nuuh my god
>>
>>59816690
>if priced non-jewishly.

Never gonna happen. Intel will resort to the brand argument again.

>it's Intel, therefore it's better because yadda yadda yadda

and people will buy it, like always.
>>
>>59817720
From what I heard from several retailers Broadwell-E sales have literally halted overnight.

So unless Skylake-X is super impressive, it won't change much.
>>
>>59817772
Even if it is, the 12-16 core Opteron rejects invalidate their entire existence.
Possibly cheaper too.
