This. I have a logitech G something wheel, shifter and pedal in the house too. Both shifter and pedals connect to the wheel. Either of them are useless without the wheel. You can't use a serial to USB adapter as this is not a serial port (looks like one though.) OP you got fucked over.

It's a DB9 connector which is what RS232 serial often used, but there's no rule you're only allowed to use DB9s for serial. For all we know there's some analog voltages from the pedal potentiometers going through there. It was meant to plug into the steering wheel not a computer's serial port.
