objects are fine. Having literally everything revolve around objects is stupid. Go has a good balance on this (in spite of other flaws) where it's perfectly normal and acceptable to have functions not related to a class (struct). Other languages where you have to use static functions to do things like this... The idea of "static function" is already barbaric. The word "function" already means that it relies on nothing other than the input to make the output.
