Its like Java, but better
So why does /g/ hate it so much?
>Its like Java
because .NET doesn't have 100% parity on all platforms. There's also the >microsoft factor.
I love it actually

i havent seen much hate for is here, like the only reason you'd hate is because it runs in a vm like java right?
which is barely even an argument now since .net core was released
it's a Microshit special version of C++
superior language coming through
>pic related
>>59806672
..microsoft's c++ compiler is by far the most widely used so c++ is basically ms now too

Cross platform .NET core isn't as good as windows exclusive .NET framework.
That's pretty much it.
>>59806672
It's a microshit version of Java, baka.

>>59806684
I'd like it more if they didn't fuck with the syntax every update, but at least it's better than ObjC
>>59806635
Most people view it as a Windows exclusive Java, since .NET implementations available in other systems may not be on par with the Microsoft one.
Aside from that, it's a good programming language and by the looks of it, it has a future. I like it a lot, actually.

not pajeet or autist friendly -> 99% of /g/

Most people like C#

LINQ is love LINQ is life

Not muh horsedick.JS
it really is comfy if you dont mind the microshaft ecosystem, weak performance, bloated IDE, muh virtual machine
otherwise it's a great language in itself.
DESU I didn't see /g/ hate on it much. At least not more than on everything else.
>>59806635
Golang is faster, stabler and fucking much easier to learn.
>>59806684
uneducated brainlets will think you're memeing, but that's because they don't know that Swift has higher order functions, type inference, pattern matching, and Monads.
It's pretty much Haskell lite
>>59806635
It's like Java, but with an added layer of pajeet
>>59806692
>microsoft's c++ compiler is by far the most widely
No it isn't

lol yeah by videogame devs.
The rest of the world uses gcc/mingw
Does microsoft's C++ compiler even have full support for C++11 yet?
