What if it is not in the default repository? You have to search the internet anyway.

Windows also has chocolatey, or ninite if you are lazy.

What is yaourt

There is really low chance that something you could possibly want does not exist in pacman and in yaourt.
>>
>ITT: Snowflake package managers
>>

pacman eats your shit constantly, and searching for software online is less of a hassle than having to fix your system for the hundredth time.

Other package managers are missing shit constantly.

apt, it just fucking works

It's a meme.
Using arch linux for more than a year now and having no issues.
Before reading here that pacman breaks system I had no idea it does. How can I achive that?
Really, tell me, I want to see how people does that and try to fix it (maybe I'll learn a thing or two).
>>
>>59805368
I use apt because it just fucking werks while pacman just plain doesn't work and zypper is slow as fuck. Then there's yum which is a total shitpile. Really, fuck Fedora.

Well then you must be a faggot of a colossal caliber, because it is a well known fact that pacman doesn't automatically solve recursive dependencies beyond a few levels.

Goddamn imbeciles go back to Windows.
>>
>>59807458
Why would I ask to provide evidence for pacman breaking something if I would believe that it breaks something.
Are you mentally challenged?

People complains that pacman breaks software, asking for evidence, no one provides it.

Forgot your medication from dyslexia?
>>

This
>>59805400

Or simply pacman. And (random) breakage is a blatant lie.
Have been running (the same) arch for three years now, and my only problem was due to the infinality bundle, which is not due to arch, but rather to my own stupidity, and the fix was relatively easy as well
>>
>>59807487

>People complains that pacman breaks software, therefore every post mentioning pacman is a post saying that pacman breaks stuff. Thus I don't read the posts anymore or try to understand them, I just shitpost.

it's just a Pajeet dude, chill. he can't 100% understand what you typed.
>>
>>59807507
Well tel me, retard, if pacman doesn't recursively solve dependencies doesn't that mean that trying to install something it would fail, therefore "breaking" ability to install software or if you're retarded enough force install it and wouldn't that software be called "broken" because of missing dependencies, therefore pacman "broke something"?
How else all these retards saying "pacman breaks my system!!!"?
If you're not on the side of these retards, then leave, no one asked you how pacman works.
>>
>>59807536

You sure are triggered Pajeet. What are error messages? What are safety measures? Don't get me wrong, Pacman is a shit tier package manager, but for other reason that you're not smart enough to understand. Go back to Windows.
>>
>>59807548

You are retarded. The only way that would even be possible is if you were trying to
pacman -U package.tar.xz
an AUR package that hahs AUR dependencies that are not installed. If you want to install AUR packages, you should use an AUR package manager like yaourt. AUR is not part of the official repos and is not in any way officially supported.

Jesus installed Linux, and rebooted on the third day.

His hard disk was wiped for our transgressions, he was formatted for our iniquities, by his hard disk being formatted we are healed.

God showed his love for us in that while we were still Windows users, he sent his son to install Linux for us.

DNF is the fastest. It uses a SAT dependency resolver and does binary deltas against the packages it downloads.

Fedora wins again.
