After, create bootable drive with 8/10 iso then replace the wim inside itwith the one from 7 iso. It's not the best way, as you have to practically copy twice the entire WIndows installation, but I know for sure that this way it works. (I assume you could also modify the iso pre-making bootable drive).
Note to only replace install.wim, not other wim files. You may want to remove ei.cfg if you run into any issues with selecting OS version (such as Home/Pro/Ultimate during install)..

No, like deploying from windows deployment server, just one image. You can build reference where ever do you want (vm, another machine, something else), then generalize it (sysprep) and clone-deploy it on target hardware (from withing win pe or any other means, dd will work just fine)

LTSB functionally works identical as Home or Pro for any software, it just has more control options and less/no updates.

Server is the only version where shit can get annoying. I used it as a home server for some games and I always had to troubleshoot some default disabled feature to make things work. Ark Survival Evolved server took me nearly a week to solve the start up issues.

Basically 2016 is just an update to 2015 that includes all the major feature changes made to Windows 10 up until April 2016.

I've heard several people claim (it's /g/ though, anti-windows shills abound so what is true and what isn't) that 2016 has several problems with it and is more error prone but I've been using it since the ISO leaked 3 weeks prior to its official release and it's been an essentially flawless year on the OS so far, a hell of a lot better than the time I spent on the shitty Pro version at release, so I can't speak to any issues.

I recently updated my company's 50 computers to Win10 Pro and made it usable by setting up a shitload of policies and registry tweaks on our domain controller, but it's still full of little nitpicky shit that annoys the everlasting fuck out me (of course my users love that shit and ask me retarded bullshit such as enabling the MSN start page in Edge). Windows 10 has fucked me upside down with all its bullshit, it was a mistake, but now I'm stuck with it and I have no time to fully tweak it or to seek for documentation on this shit. LTSB would probably help me in this regard but I can't find a whole lot of info about it for use in a company where we only have licenses of W7 pro (updated to W10 pro, not enterprise).

It happens to all folders, but the Desktop in particular.
I usually save images from the web browser to the desktop and they'll not appear in real time, but you can open an explorer window and navigate to the desktop folder and the file will be there.

Anon, it is possible, I've done it. You need a tool like ntlite, dismgui, or dism from the Windows command line. You extract the boot.wim file, find the usb 3 driver for your chipset, and load it in that way (actually if it's a thinkpad you can get the entire driver cab file). The image needs to have it 'natively'. The way the other anon told you won't work because as soon and you are in the installer, Windows loses visibility of the drive, but it is possible. BTW who the fuck buys new thinkpads?

Which I suppose is fine, if they're better, but they're not. It's annoying. I don't need audio driver or even the regular one. I uninstall but it installs again until I have to install nvidias drivers.
