Is MATE the logical conclusion to desktop environments?
>>59777318
What Desktop environments are good depends on perspective. Instead of shit posting about which one is superior (white?), why not just appreciate the fact you can change and customise to your liking
>>59777318
yes
You misspelled KDE
>>59777318
Yes. MATE is god tier. Don't fall for bloated, broken, and backwards desktop environments. Keep using MATE.
Sure, if you're a Luddite.
>>59777318
Depends on the user's preference. Anyone that says anything else is a fucking retard.
I wish people would just stop fighting over DEs and distros but it seems nu-/g/ is all about shitflinging.

install EXWM
It's comfy, but I'm fine with GNOME if it's a machine more powerful than my chinkpad.
xfce is
>>59777318
MATE is fine, I use it. I'm not sure about it being the best but it's better than anything that spawned from GNOME 3.
>>59777318
isn't mate just bloated xfce?
I remember installing it one time... and what a cluttered mess
>>59777318
>logical conclusion
>no high dpi scaling
nope, with unity ded, only DE left that has proper high dpi scaling is gnome 3, thus its the logical conclusion
>>59779014
Whats the point of dpi scaling if your windows crash before you can read any text?
>>59779156
works on my machine :^)
>>59779014
What's a de with good high dpi scaling?
>>59777318
If you like screen tearing.
>>59779362
when a de can change scaling with a simple slider, and all elements get scaled, thatde has good high dpi scaling
mate doesnt have it because there is no scaling option, you have to resize the text, which leaves all the buttons undersized, also window controls dont get scaled
