/bpcg/ is for those who want the best possible performance/price, and features builds that cost under a thousand dollars.

G4560 is the reccomended cpu for any builds under 750$, because adding a i3 or even a quad-core i5 will only add about 6-12 fps for an extra hundred dollars or so.

If making requests or asking for advice, make sure to specify the quality of experience you seek, but remember—budget pc builds will only get you so far.

My life advice is to check your local thrift store for computer parts. Mine specifically dumps electronics thursday evenings/friday mornings and I regularly get laptops that aren't too old.
Recently I got 2 desktops from my local value village for $30 a piece. One is a socket 1155 with an i5 3xxx and the other is a 1156 with an i7. Both have 8 gigs ddr3 each.

The i5 one is better than my current phenom 2 desktop. But I was thinking of upgrading the 1156 to a 6 core xeon.

Who is this shill?
You should be spending like $550 max on a G4560 build.
Any more than that and you could get a Ryzen 5 to double the performance for hardly more money.

The fuck else are you putting with a G4560 to bring it to $750? A 1080? It'll be bottlenecked to shit. I put a 525GB SSD with a G4560 and it's still only $550. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZjgdwV

Yeah. Value village is savers in the states. Luckily not many people look for computer parts at my local store.

This is really good advice.
Also craigslist for $50 PCs that you can salvage at least one thing decent from.
You can sometimes even find monitors and shit for free or $15.

Those are two reasons why I don't recommend a new GPU weaker than a RX470, and don't recommend those $60 monitors unless it's actually something decent on a black friday sale.
If you're going to buy such garbage, just get something used for even cheaper and sometimes better. These can often be found locally.

this should do eh?
hsf should be enough to hold 3.4/4c,3.7/2c

or should i pop the extra $40-50 for a 22nm ivy based xeon that does 3.7-3.9?
